FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How is this Manero’s related to the other Manero’s Restaurants and Manero’s Steakhouses up north and in South Florida?
This is by far our most frequently asked question. There have been many Manero’s restaurants over the years. There were five in operation simultaneously for most of the 60’s and 70’s. Nick Manero and his brothers and sisters opened the original restaurant in Greenwich, CT, after returning from WWII. The Greenwich restaurant enjoyed great success fairly quickly and the brothers and sisters branched out to open their own Manero’s restaurants. Soon to follow were Westport, CT, Paramus, NJ, Syosset, NY and Hallandale, FL. Eventually, Manero’s were opened by more family members in West Palm Beach and Margate, FL. The Paramus and Syosset locations were run by trusted friends, under an agreement with the Manero family. For a brief period of time there was a Manero’s on 34th Street in Manhattan. Manero’s in Palm City – which is the last of this Manero family’'s “Manero’s” restaurants - is operated by the niece of Nick Manero and her adult children. They also operate J. Arthur’s Restaurant in Maggie Valley, NC. All of the original Manero siblings have passed.
Why is the decor and menu, among other things, different from the Greenwich location?
Today the Greenwich location would have been over 65 years old. Much has changed, even though that building did not appear to change much over the years. At one time the waiters were all males, chain restaurants were non-existent, costs of food and labor was minimal, there were fewer laws and regulations and US beef was not being shipped all over the world - which made it easier to get great quality. Not to mention, a transition in consumer health/diet concerns and spending habits. There are many, many reasons, but mainly this Manero’s is different in an effort to provide the food, service and environment that are demanded by the good people of the area in which we are currently located. Having said that, there is some consideration being given to developing a “throwback dining room” in one of our rooms to recall the nostalgia of a great time period.
What makes your product special?
Consistency. Yes, we have the over-poured “dividend” drink, the award winning prime rib, dry-aged steaks, fantastic French onion soup, the original garlic bread and onion rings, the world famous Gorgonzola salad and the attentive, professional service,– all backed-up by our satisfaction guarantee. But the probability that it will be done in the same high-quality fashion, time after time, is what makes Manero’s special.
What is the Dividend Club?
Manero’s Dividend Club recently replaced the Loyalty Appreciation Program (LAP). This is club is open to all who enjoy Manero’s Restaurant on an occasional to frequent basis. It offers extra value, through points and awards and exclusive member offers. This club is e-mail based; you must have e-mail to join and enjoy the benefits. Sign-up is free and can be done when you visit Manero’s, but it may take up to a week to process your membership and prepare you member card.
Why can'’t I combine coupons and offers at Manero’s?
From time to time, Manero’s offers additional incentives to increase existing customer frequency and entice new clientele. With regard to Dividend Club rewards, we wish to provide a token of appreciation to our loyal customers. These small gestures are in place to build business, not undermine it. And so we have adopted the policy, that unless otherwise specified, coupons, offers, promotions and/or Dividend Club awards cannot be combined on the same visit and at the same table – regardless of separate checks. For your benefit and ours, we provide this information in advance whenever we can. You are always welcome to use all of the offers you have received; it just has to be on different visits to Manero’s.
How can I get Manero’s to donate to my charity?
Simply, e-mail us at contact_maneros.com with the event details. Manero’s will review the information and consider the charity for donation. Due to the overwhelming requests for gift card donations, Manero’s will give one $20 promotional gift card for each event hosted by a local bona-fide charity. Last year, gift card donations totaled $12,000. This is in addition to several special catered events completely underwritten by Manero’s each year – which are committed for the upcoming year.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, they can be purchased in any amount either on our website or over the phone using your credit card. Gift cards never expire and are valid until your recipient uses all of the dollar value. So they can be used over multiple visits. Please visit www.maneros.com or call (772) 220-3011.
Do you sell the famous dressing and steaks?
We do sell quite a bit of the dressing both in the restaurant and on-line. It is even available in a few local gourmet markets. In the restaurant and in the markets, we sell a retail pack with both the homemade signature Italian dressing and the ground premium Gorgonzola. Due to the high cost of shipping overnight, we do not offer the premium Gorgonzola with Internet orders – just the signature Italian. Generally comparable “crumbled” Gorgonzola can be found in your local grocery or gourmet market. For more information, please visit www.manerosgorgonzola.com
We do ship both our dry-age and wet-age steaks on a custom order basis, but the overnight shipping is expensive.
Do you sell the Manero’s Steak Sauce?
The steak sauce was developed and procured by the Greenwich location. The production was contracted out using a proprietary recipe. Because of the way it was bought, in volume by the one location, and the passage of time since the last bulk production, we have not been able source or purchase any. If you have information on the original manufacturer, please let us know.
